The White House Tour 2019

The White House

I and my parents went to The White House last March. Thanks to our kind neighbor who became our tour guide and helped us to have a reservation on a Saturday visit.

Our neighbor told us that we can reserve a tour in February if we're planning to tour The White House in March. Maximum number of guests per tour is five. The following infos are needed to register.
  • First, Middle & Last Name
  • Date of Birth
  • US Citizen (Yes or No)
  • Social Security Number (not required for children under 18 or for non-citizens)
  • Gender
  • City of Residence (if you're living abroad, the city that you'll visit)
  • State of Residence (if you're living abroad, the state that you'll visit)
  • Country of Birth
After submission of our details, we received our boarding pass and we brought one copy to The White House. Boarding pass mentions the requirements during the visit, permitted and prohibited items and additional information. These details can be found in The White House website. Since bag is not allowed during the tour, I only brought my wallet, cellphone and passport. I made sure my pants had pockets that day. Security will not let you in if you bring a bag.

Our neighbor knows a lot about The White House since he works there and he guided us during the entire tour. Other visitors even listened to him since tours are self-guided. We are amazed during the tour and very thankful we had this opportunity. The first time we went to DC was 2010 and we didn't even take any pictures outside The White House and didn't imagine we would be able to go inside after nine years.
